What Have I Been Up To?
So I've been on a trip and I am writing this on the train ride back. Surprisingly I got a lot of information about how to improve my project. The trip was called the 2022 Florida State Thespians Festival. At the festival I performed a piece called "Turn It Off" from The Book of Mormon. What's even better is that I went to a ton of workshops. One was a dance workshop where I learned a dance from Moulon Rouge from the choreographer and former broadway dancer Andrew Cao.
Here is a video from the workshop.
However, I learned the most from a workshop entitled "Producing 101" from Gary John La Rosa who has been in so many pieces on broadway including the original production of "Fiddler on the Roof". He also worked in production in Hollywood. He taught me a lot of info on how to get a good footing in the industry. I asked him about my project and how I could make it GREAT. He told me "when you stop trying to make something other people want to see and make something that you would want to see you will see an improvement in your work". This resonated with me and can help me bring my intro to the next level.
